About Us The founders of Elden Associates are Pioneers in the Automatic Identification Data Collection Industry In 1982, Elaine and Denny Bourgeois started Elden Associates in Upstate New York writing data collection application software for the fledgling PC industry. Within two years, their software was interfaced to barcode data collection devices. This was the beginnings, venturing down of a very successful road, working with the latest technological advances in the computer and data collection industry. Both Elaine and Denny have been sought after for their expertise in their field. They have designed and installed systems from the White House in Washington, DC to Delphi in Juarez, Mexico. Company History After the beginnings in 1982, Elden Associates changed its name to Applied Vertical Systems (AVS) in 1987. With the boom in the AIDC industry, the excitement grew over the unique capabilities of the interface software products that AVS had developed for the barcode industry. In 1990, AVS was sold to Welch Allyn-Data Collection Division (DCD), now Handheld Products.(http://www.handheld.com/Site.aspx/na/en/home/) Elaine, Denny and a key programmer went to Welch Allyn/Handheld Products with the sale. After four years, these key employees all moved to a Mid-West company, Carlton Bates (http://carlton-bates.com/) to build a Barcode Division. After eight successful years, Elaine and Denny have decided to enter the marketplace, again, as Elden Associates to provide the same quality service and products that their customers have always expected. Today Our customers are the reason we have decided that we need to be here, today! When we left the industry for two years, there were e-mails that we didn't want to open because we knew that it would be a request to "do just this one more analysis..." Now, we have pulled together the resources and team that we feel will make all of us proud and, more importantly, make you, the customer glad you came back to Elden Associates.
